Audrey Parker is the creative force behind Virago Creations. A massage therapist, Reiki healer and jewelry artisan, she uses her hands to mold, twist, bend and weave her designs. A mostly self-taught jewelry designer, this former New Yorker makes her home amongst the winery vineyards and horse ranches in the North Valley of Albuquerque, New Mexico.
She won Third Place in the Turquoise Category of the 2004-2005 Fire Mountain Gems & Beads contest and several of her creations appeared in the Beadstyle Magazine Online Forum Challenges. Her spicy wire collar, Bolly Dolly, appears in the most recent "Bollywood" Challenge. Selected pieces of her jewelry are for sale at the L.J. Singer Gallery in Palm Springs, California. She's a member of Mensa and enjoys solving Sudoku puzzles, travel, museums, cooking, sunbathing on the beach, winetasting, scouring flea markets and estate sales and touring historic homes.
I believe in the healing power of art in all it's forms. I use everyday objects and recycled pieces (my transformative jewels) as well as wire, glass, organic beads, semiprecious stones, acrylic, precious metal, nature, fibers and fabric to capture energy, power and create my visions. I'm a certified Crystal Healer and enjoy designing custom jewelry pieces to intensify the energy of the stones to enhance personal healing. My inspiration comes from my travels, various cultures, nature, the past and my unique vision of the future.
Voltaire said, "Appreciation is a wonderful thing; it makes what is excellent in others belong to us as well."
